Zine reading: part one (Taken with Instagram)
Dual Citizenship by Jen Twigg
I feel like Jen always writes in such a straightforward and honest way that it’s pretty disarming, and that’s how I feel about this zine. As someone who knows that Jen is constantly leaving Chicago for DC and then coming back, it was interesting to see how that all started and how she feels about it.Tributaries 1, 2, and 3 by jc
I rarely say this, but…GO GET THESE ZINES NOW. I know I haven’t entirely read through my stack of zines from DC, but I’m pretty sure that this is my favorite find of the fest. jc stopped by my table and asked to trade, so I was able to get Tributaries 1 and 2, and then was able to borrow Tributaries 3 (pictured) from Curiouser Jane. I know I’m not really giving specifics, but there’s something about these zines that just hits a chord with me.R U INTO BEING LOVED: A zine about first dates by Shara
I’m with Jen Twigg on this one: I wish it were longer! Definitely a funny zine, but I wanted more.
gahhh people with legit amazing zines reading and liking my zine just feels like winning a prize. i am so fucking excited to spend the rest of my summer doing as much fun & creative stuff as possible. making stuff writing stuff … i just decided to table philly feminist zine fest and kind of want to make a zine by then called HIGH SELF ESTEEM IS A RADICAL POLITICAL STATEMENT. or something. i dunno. want to ride the wave of momentum until the suckhole of grad school + fulltime work begins.
